Hank Boland Named New Artistic Director of Strawdog Theatre Company


Strawdog Theatre Company and Board President Seth Rickard announce, that effective immediately, Hank Boland is to assume the role of artistic director of Strawdog Theater Company. Boland has been acting as interim artistic director since fall 2012.

William Peace University Hosts New Production Of Jean-Paul Sartre's Play No Exit Sept. 24-28


William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the university will host a new production of No Exit, written by Jean-Paul Sartre, from Tuesday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 28. The performances will be held at the university's Leggett Theatre from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with a special matinee on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Jennifer Avery, adjunct instructor for dance and William Peace Theatre choreographer, is the director of the play, written by the 1964 winner for the Nobel Prize in Literature (an award the author refused).

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is proud to announce casting for the upcoming eighth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 29 - August 25, 2013 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2013 includes: Buena Vista by Edith Freni, The Gospel of Franklin by Aaron Carter and Annie Bosh is Missing by Janine Nabers. The 2013 festival also features readings of three new plays during Professionals' Weekend (August 8 - 11), including Tempo by Mike Batistick, Your Name Will Follow You Home by Carlos Murillo and BARBECUE by Robert O'Hara.
