Today we rewind to 2010, when American Idiot opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre, where it played for 422 performances. Directed by Michael Mayer, it starred John Gallagher, Jr., Stark Sands, Michael Esper, Tony Vincent, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Christina Sajous. 

Broadway has turned up the volume! Last night at the Broadway Theatre, Rocktopia officially opened. An explosive musical concert event that fuses the most iconic 20th-century rock with world-renowned classical masterpieces,ROCKTOPIA features the works of musical innovators across centuries-including Journey, Mozart, Queen, Beethoven, Aerosmith, Handel, Led Zeppelin, Tchaikovsky, U2, Heart, Puccini, The Who and more-performed by an elite lineup of vocalists, a five-piece rock band, a thirty-person choir, and a twenty-piece orchestra. Rocktopia celebrates its opening night on Broadway tomorrow,Tuesday, March 27, running six weeks only, through April 29, 2018. 

This spring, the international music sensation Rocktopia will rock Broadway for six epic weeks, March 20 - April 29, 2018 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). Set to open on March 27, 2018, Rocktopia is an explosive musical event that fuses the most iconic 20th-Century rock with world-renowned classical compositions. Five world-class vocalists-backed by a full symphony orchestra, an electrifying rock band and a choir-take music itself to electrifying new heights.

Happy Birthday, Billie Joe Armstrong! Best known as the lead vocalist, main songwriter and lead guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day, Armstrong recently brought one of his most popular albums to Broadway- American Idiot. In 2010, Armstrong joined the cast of American Idiot, which won two Tonys, for one week in the role of St. Jimmy. He replaced the original Broadway cast member Tony Vincent in fall of 2010 and returned to the role for 50 performances in January 2011.

Elitch Gardens, now in its 21st year downtown since relocating from northwest Denver, remains one of Colorado's the most popular entertainment destinations. It now features a vast array of modern roller-coasters, and because many of 'The 12' cast members from the DCPA Theatre Company are thrill-ride aficionados, the staff at Elitch's invited cast members Tuesday to ride the famous Carousel, which dates back to 1927 - and two coaster rides: The Brain Drain and the Boomerang. Children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation auditioned on February 27 in front of celebrities and Broadway stars for a coveted spot in the Foundation's Annual Talent Show on April 16 at Radio City Music Hall. The world-famous Rockettes and Knicks City Dancers along with Broadway stars Tony Vincent (American Idiot, NBC's 'The Voice'), Christina Sajous (Spiderman), Derrick Baskin (Memphis) and Justin Johnson (Rent) are serving as this year's guest artists mentoring for nearly 100 children partaking in the Garden of Dreams Talent Show.
