As BroadwayWorld previousuly reported,  David Cook ('American Idol' Winner, 7th Season) will return to the role of 'Charlie Price' in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) beginning today, Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He will play a limited run through Sunday, September 9, 2018. Cook succeeds Tyler Glenn (lead singer of the multi-platinum rock band, Neon Trees) who played his last performance on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series will continue on August 20 at 8pm, honoring singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette with a cast of Broadway stars including Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen), Lauren Patten (Fun Home), Ben Thompson (Waitress), and American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook (Kinky Boots). The one-night-only concert will feature completely new arrangements of the hits of the iconic multi-instrumentalist, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

Kinky Boots producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig are thrilled to announce today that the hit musical Kinky Boots celebrates its five-year anniversary on Broadway on Wednesday, April 4 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St.) . The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Tony Award-winning producer, 'Hamilton' alum and 'Power' co-star Brandon Victor Dixon will star as Judas and join an already stellar cast in NBC's highly anticipated special event 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,' to be aired Easter Sunday, April 1 from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. Also joining the cast are Tony nominee Ben Daniels as Pontius Pilate, Tony nominee Norm Lewis as Caiaphas, Broadway veteran Jason Tam as Peter, 'M. Rock singer and former American Idol David Cook will be making his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots this spring! Cook will begin performances on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He will play a limited run through Saturday, May 5, 2018.

Kinky Boots producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award nominee Wayne Brady will step back into his heels as 'Lola' in the Tony Award® -winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) beginning on Monday, March 5, 2018. He will play a strictly limited run through Friday, April 26, 2018.

Directed by Gordon Greenberg, the book is by Gordon Greenberg & Steve Rosen, with music and lyrics by Michael Mahler & Alan Schmuckler, and music direction by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett.

The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots celebrated 2,000 performances on Broadway at Saturday's matinee performance, January 20, 2018.
