The live capture of Waitress the Musical will be available to own on digital platforms this week. The new release date will now allow audiences to stream the filmed version of the Broadway musical from their homes using apps like Prime Video, Apple TV, and more. The film stars Sara Bareilles, Charity Angél Dawson, Christopher Fitzgerald, and more.

Due to popular demand, the live capture of Waitress: the Musical is extending its run in movie theaters nationwide!

The live capture of Waitress: the Musical made it into the top 10 at the box office over the weekend. Starring Sara Bareilles, the film came in at #8 at the domestic box office, passing an estimated $3.2 million during its opening weekend. The film played on 1,214 screens in the U.S. and Canada.

BroadwayWorld has learned that the Waitress: the Musical film will be made available for streaming and VOD.

Featuring composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles as Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage.

Tickets to see Waitress the Musical in movie theaters are now available. The spirited and visually stunning footage from the hit musical production, which also features Bareilles in the leading role, was captured live on stage in 2021 during the musical’s reprise run on Broadway.
