Exemplifying its commitment to provide Los Angeles with inspiring, immersive entertainment for all ages, The Music Center announced its 2013-2014 Season, which includes major dance premieres, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary performances for families and its nationally recognized series of free 'do-it-yourself' arts events. According to The Music Center, this extensive group of performances and arts-making opportunities - which includes engagements at all four of its venues and Grand Park - is The Music Center's most comprehensive, diverse season to date.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project Presents JUBA! Masters of Tap and Percussive Dance, 12/7

The Kennedy Center and Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) celebrate the ever-evolving art of percussive dance with CHRP's JUBA! Masters of Tap and Percussive Dance on December 7, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the Eisenhower Theater. Curated by CHRP Founder and Artistic Director Lane Alexander, this full-length tap concert will feature a host of extraordinary foot drummers and percussive arts masters from all over the country. The concert will include performances by CHRP's BAM!, Diane 'Lady Di' Walker, Bessie Award-winner Sam Weber, Broadway stars Derick K. Grant and Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards, M.A.D.D. Rhythms and the Greg Spero Trio, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Michelle Dorrance and Dorrance Dance, Washington D.C.'s Step Afrika!, an excerpt from Rasta Thomas' new show Tap Stars featuring Jason Janas, members of six American youth tap ensembles, and alumni from the 80th Anniversary Jacob's Pillow Tap Program.

On Tuesday, March 27th, Rosie's Theater Kids held an event called 'Passing It On,' where the Kids performed a show which they learned in tandem with mega mentors like Audra McDonald, BD Wong, Brandon Victor Dixon, Dana Moore, and Derick K Grant, among others. The show was held at Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater @ 7pm, and the event honored Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights Aids. Check out photos from the event below!

Jacob's Pillow Announces 2010 Season

Jacob's Pillow announces its 2010 full season calendar, including more than 200 free performances, talks, photography exhibits, tours, and events. Free event highlights include the Blake's Barn exhibit Lois Greenfield: Imagined Moments, featuring Greenfield's signature dance photography, and 'Let's Dance!' a new community event on July 4 with free dance classes and workshops for teens and adults. PillowTalks, held Thursdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 4pm, include Virginia Johnson, recently named Artistic Director of Dance Theatre of Harlem (June 24), choreographer/director Bill T. Jones (July 22), and the return of Pulitzer Prize winner Jules Feiffer (July 31). Inside/Out performance highlights include the all-female hip-hop group Decadancetheatre (July 7), the dancers of The School at Jacob's Pillow's first ever Tap Program (July 10), alumnus of The School at Jacob's Pillow and Artistic Director of his own ensemble, Avi Scher (July 23), and ¡Flamenco Revolución! (August 27).

On March 5th, one of the hottest composers on the theater scene - Jeanine Tesori ("Shrek The Musical" and "Caroline, or Change") will perform an evening of her music along with special guests, who will include Chuck Cooper, Daniel Breaker, and a host of others.
