Master Electrician
The historic Cape Playhouse in Dennis, MA — the theatre where Broadway goes to summer- is currently accepting resumes for a Master Electrician for our 2022 Summer Season which includes productions of Private Lives, God of Carnage, An American in Paris, Always Patsy Cline, Grease, Murder on the Orient Express and The Fantasticks.
The master electrician is responsible for organizing the season electrics rental package, working with lighting designers to determine the rental needs for each production, prepping, hanging and focusing all plots, maintaining the electrics shop area, overseeing all load-ins, strikes, and tech rehearsals, and assisting the development staff with any lighting needs for Playhouse events. A detailed proficiency of moving lights and programing of console is required. The master electrician must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.
Candidates must be exceptionally professional and feel comfortable working with the top directors, creatives, and actors in American Theatre.
Based on their experience, the Master Electrician may also have opportunities to serve as a Lighting Designer on a select number of our mainstage shows.
