Peter Oyloe Stars in REVERB at Redtwist Theatre, Opening Today (5/18/2013) - Reverb by Leslye Headland, will be directed by Jonathan Berry at Redtwist Theatre. The show opens today, May 18, at 3pm. This will be the Chicago premiere of Reverb, a darkly comic, brutal dissection of the deadly force of wrath in the playwright's cycle of the Seven Deadly Sins, featuring Redtwist company member and two-time, Jeff Award-winner, Peter Oyloe.

THE PIANIST OF WILLESDEN LANE Features Post-Show Talkback, 5/19 (5/17/2013) - THE PIANIST OF WILLESDEN LANE, starring internationally-acclaimed storyteller and pianist, Mona Golabek, will feature a special talkback discussion on Sunday, May 19 with Alison Pure-Slovin, Midwest Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center following the 3 p.m. performance at The Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted Street. The production is adapted and directed byHershey Felder and based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane by Golabek and Lee Cohen. The Chicago premiere has received rave reviews and follows successful productions in Los Angeles and Boston.

SAFETY LAST Begins 5/24 at the Music Box Theatre (5/17/2013) - Hailed as one of the great film comedies of all time, the 1923 romantic comedy Safety Last includes one of the most famous images from the silent film era: Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a large clock as he dangles from the outside of a skyscraper above moving traffic. For four days only, the Music Box Theatre gives audiences the rare opportunity to experience this comedy classic in celebration of its 90th anniversary. Lloyd was crowned the king of daredevil comedy thanks to Safety Last and - after decades of chases, explosions and CGI - the film's death-defying stunts still have the power to send audiences reeling. Safety Last will be screened in a new digital restoration made from the original nitrate camera negative, Friday-Monday, May 24-27 at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Avenue.

Chicago's Lady Arm Wrestlers Return for CLLAW 16, 6/7 (5/17/2013) - The ladies of CLLAW are celebrating their 'Sweet 16' - but there's nothing sweet about these gals! The Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers are flexing their forearms once again at CLLAW XVI on Friday, June 7 at 10 pm with a return to the super colossal Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago. Brought to you by Sideshow Theatre Company, CLLAW's 16th match will feature fearsome lady arm wrestlers decked out in over-the-top outfits, a cash bar, shady referees and audience participation all wrapped into one wild, crazy, theatrical event. Chicago bands The Black Laces and The Lucky Shiners will take the stage to rock out the evening. All proceeds from CLLAW XVI will benefit Sideshow Theatre and this match's partner charity, C4 - Community Counseling Centers of Chicago.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Announces 2013-14 Season (5/17/2013) - Artistic Director/co-Founder Fred Anzevino has announced the 2013-2014 season of Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre. The schedule of five productions will include an exciting mix of musical theatre, cabaret, and drama with music. ROOMS: A ROCK ROMANCE Begins 7/6 at Broken Nose Theatre (5/17/2013) - Broken Nose Theatre (BNT) will present the Chicago premiere of ROOMS: a rock romance, a new musical by Paul Scott Goodman and Miriam Gordon, in Collaboraction's Pentagon space in the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N Milwaukee Ave, July 6 -August 11. Steppenwolf's NEXT UP 2013 Begins 5/28 (5/17/2013) - Performances begin in just five weeks for the third annual Next Up, continuing Steppenwolf Theatre Company's commitment to Chicago's next generation of theater artists. Next Up features three productions presented in rotating repertory, in collaboration with Northwestern University's MFA programs in Direction and Design. Next Up 2013 showcases the work of graduates of those programs with casts of professional Chicago actors-including nine alumni of the School at Steppenwolf: Fat Pig by Neil LaBute, directed by David Prete; The Drunken City by Adam Bock, directed by Johnny Michael DiResta; and The Internationalist by Anne Washburn, directed by Erin Murray.

Chicago Opera Theater Announces 2014 Season (5/17/2013) - Chicago Opera Theater (COT) General Director Andreas Mitisek today announces programming for COT's 2014 season, including two operas and a double-bill of one-acts. Mitisek comments, "It's a season that is 100% 20th century and 150% COT. New, rare and with contemporary relevance for a curious audience that is hungry for new theatrical experiences." The season opens with the Chicago Premiere of Duke Ellington's Queenie Pie, February 15 - 23, 2014. In the spring, COT presents a double-bill of Carl Orff's Die Kluge and Viktor Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis, May 31 - June 8, 2014.
