The Christmas That Almost Wasn't:Theatre at the Center

The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t

RUNS DECEMBER 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 15

AT

THEATRE AT THE CENTER

THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

Theatre at the Center’s Theatre for Young Audiences, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana, will present The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t, the “behind the scenes” story of Christmas written for children, by children performed by Child’s Play Touring Theatre.  The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t will run December 1 through December 15.

The true spirit of the holidays is brought to life in three short plays in The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t.  The hustle and bustle and near disasters of the Christmas season are brought to life during “Dinky the Dancing Reindeer”, “How Santa Got Well” and “Santa and the Witch”.  Dancing reindeer, medical mix-ups and a spell casting witch are all involved in these delightful tales of narrowly averted Christmas disasters.  Join Santa and friends for a behind-the-scenes peek at the entertaining Christmas preparations at the North Pole.

Founded in 1991, Theatre at the Center is a year-round professional, equity theater at its home, The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. Theatre at the Center is conveniently located off I-80/94, just 35 minutes from downtown Chicago.

Group performances are weekdays at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.  There will also be two public performances on Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Group prices are $6.50 per student, adult tickets are $8.00.  Groups of 100 or more student reservations are $5.50 per student.  Public prices are children $7.00 and adults $8.50.  A special lunch package will also be available on December 1, 5, 8 and 12 for an additional $4 per person.  The lunch will include an all-beef hot dog, potato chips, fruit roll up, cookies and an orange drink.  To purchase group tickets call 219.836.3258 and to purchase individual tickets call the Box Office at  219.836.3255 or Tickets.com at 800.511.1552.  For more information on Theater at the Center, visit www.TheatreAtTheCenter.com.
