TapMan Productions Will Open Inaugural Season With TAPMAN: ORIGIN

TapMan Productions, LLC begins its inaugural season with TAPMAN: ORIGIN, performing Fridays at 7:30pm, January 4-25, 2013, at Gorilla Tango's Skokie Theatre (7924 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, 60077). Tickets are $15; to purchase tickets visit www.gorillatango.com or call 773-598-4549.

Face front, True Believer, and bear witness to the rise and fall of the tenacious Tap-Knight! After consuming a secret formula to impress a girl in his dance class, a lovelorn scientist gains super tap dancing powers which he must obviously use to fight crime as his alter-ego, TapMan, the world's most daring tap dance superhero!

Chicago tap dancer Tristan Bruns steps into the spotlight to direct and star in this large stage adaptation of his TapMan variety character, which first graced the stage of the Lakeshore Theater under the direction of Chris Ritter, where TapMan shared the stage with the likes of Reggie Watts, Doug Stanhope and Hannibal Buress. TapMan: Origin features original music and choreography by Tristan Bruns.

Also featured are members of The TapMen (Best of Dance Chicago 2010), The Cartier Collective (formerly Especially Tap Chicago), and Chicago singer-songwriter Kyle Greer.

Other guests include a bevy of acclaimed tap dancers: Brill Barrett (River Dance), Jumaane Taylor (Rasta Thomas' Tap Stars), Martin 'Tre' Dumas (Imagine Tap), Starinah Dixon (Global Rhythms (2012)) and Donnetta Jackson (FootworkKingz, America's Best Dance Crew).
