Photo Flash: Marriott Theatre's HOW CAN YOU RUN WITH A SHELL ON YOUR BACK

Photo_Flash_Marriott_Theatres_HOW_CAN_YOU_RUN_WITH_A_SHELL_ON_YOUR_BACK_20010101

The hit children's musical HOW CAN YOU RUN WITH A SHELL ON YOUR BACK? runs March 3rd through May 22nd at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences; 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL. Inspired by four of Aesop's classic fables, "Androcles and the Lion," "The Ant and the Grasshopper," "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," and "The Tortoise and the Hare," HOW CAN YOU RUN WITH A SHELL ON YOUR BACK? rediscovers these fables through the eyes of today's youth. The production will be Directed by Dominic Missimi with Music Direction by Ryan Nelson.

HOW CAN YOU RUN WITH A SHELL ON YOUR BACK? shows how creativity and an open mind can unlock the magic in any situation. Under the watchful eye of the eccentric substitute teacher, Mr. Sopperstein, six students spend an hour in detention exploring their imaginations through one of the library books, Aesop's Fables. Hesitant at first, the six students quickly find enthusiasm for the stories as they bring the tales to life as never before.

Throughout the course of the story, the six wildly different students - ranging from the "jock" to the "nerd" - not only learn the valuable lessons in the fables, but also how important individuality and friendship are. Guided by the magical Sopperstein and the incredible music of Mahler and Schmuckler, the classic tales become relevant and fun for children of all ages.

Daily performances of HOW CAN YOU RUN WITH A SHELL ON YOUR BACK? include Wednesday through Sundays at 10 a.m. Please visit www.MarriottTheatre.com or call the box office at 847-634-0200 for the exact schedule.
