Photo Flash: First Look at Theatre at the Center's 42ND STREET

Come and meet those dancing feet as Theatre at the Center presents the winner of the 1980 Tony Award for "Best New Musical" and the 2001 Tony Award for "Best Revival of a Musical", 42ND STREET. The biggest production to ever be presented on Theatre at the Center's stage, this heart pounding, foot stomping spectacular runs now through October 21 at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, with a press performance September 16. Get a first look at the show in the photos below!

Based on the classic 1933 Busby Berkeley movie musical of the same name, 42ND STREET is one of the longest running productions in Broadway history, having played for a staggering 9 years, for a total of 3,486 performances. With a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble, music by three-time Academy Award-winning composer Harry Warren and lyrics by Al Dubin, 42ND STREET features a memorable score including the show stopping numbers We're in the Money, You're Getting to be a Habit With Me, Lullaby of Broadway, and of course, 42nd Street. Theatre at the Center's Artistic Director William Pullinsi will direct with Choreography by Linda Fortunato.

Considered to be the quintessential backstage musical, 42ND STREET tells the story of a starry-eyed young actress named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home with hopes of making it big on Broadway. Julian Marsh, the Great White Way's most brilliant director, is preparing his biggest show yet, Pretty Lady, in the depths of the Great Depression in New York. He is faced with one obstacle after another, and when aging leading lady Dorothy Brock breaks her ankle at the last minute, panic spreads through the company. Thrust into the spotlight is young chorus girl Peggy Sawyer. Peggy is beautiful and talented; but can she overcome her nerves and give the performance of a lifetime? In just 36 hours, a star is born! This big, bold, glitzy musical celebrates what dreams are made of.

The cast of 42ND STREET is led by five-time Jeff Award nominee Larry Adams as "Julian Marsh". Adams most recently appeared Off-Broadway in the The Hunchback Variations, and was in the Broadway production and National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. He was seen at Theatre at the Center as "Captain Von Trapp" in the Sound of Music, "George" in La Cage aux Folles, "Pilot" in Jesus Christ Superstar and in the title role in Maury Yeston's Phantom. Nicole Miller will star as "Peggy Sawyer". Miller's numerous appearances at Theatre at the Center include La Cage, Jesus Christ Superstar and Guys and Dolls. She was also seen at Paramount Theatre and with Light Opera Works. Paula Scrofano, who stars as "Dorothy Brock", is a Jeff Award and Sara Siddons Award-winner. She was seen at Theatre at the Center as "Rose" in Gypsy, "Dolly" in Hello, Dolly and most recently in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
42ND STREET also features the ever popular Dale Benson as "Abner Dillon", with Nathan Mittleman as "Billy Lawlor", David Besky as "Pat Denning", Amy Brophy as "Maggie Jones", Tom Moore as "Bert Barry", Cara Salerno as "Lorraine", Jenny Guse as "Ann Reilly", Amy Orman as "Phyllis", Steven Spanopoulos as "Andy Lee" and ensemble members Rebecca Bradford, Johnson Vaughn Brock, Chris Carter, Amanda Lauren Compton, Mike Danovich, Brian M. Duncan, Allyson J. Graves, Kim Green and Michael Reckling.

Funderburg, Costume Designer Brenda Winstead, Wig Designer Kevin Barthel and Props Designer Lauren Earnshaw.
