Celebrating 35 years of bringing award-winning musical theater to Chicagoland, the Marriott Theatre will open its 2009 Season with the mega-hit musical JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. Perfect for the whole family, JOSEPH previews begin February 18th ; the show opens on February 25th ; and runs through May 10th at Marriott Theatre. Multi-Jeff Award winner Marc Robin will choreograph and direct this must-see production.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's most playful, joyous and feel-good musical, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, is a "colorful" retelling of the Biblical life of Joseph and his amazing abilities. The story will take you on a fantastic journey of song and dance; from country and calypso, to musical theater and doo wop! Director Marc Robin says, "I love the celebration of the story. I connect with the amazing energy that is present in the heart of this piece". An audience favorite and worldwide phenomenon for more than forty years, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT will be presented in brilliant "Technicolor" on the Marriott stage. The irresistible score includes Broadway favorites Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, and Go, Go, Go Joseph.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT originally premiered as a 30-minute cantata in 1968 before being reshaped and professionally staged as a musical in 1972. It opened on Broadway, at the Royale Theatre, in 1982, receiving eight Tony Award nominations! In 1993, the National Tour of JOSEPH starring Donny Osmond, became one of the most successful musicals in Chicago history, with multiple runs at the Chicago Theatre. JOSEPH first bowed at the Marriott Theatre in 1985, becoming its best selling show to date. Ten seasons ago JOSEPH again broke records here and became the first musical presented at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in a joint production with Marriott. Subscribers again chose JOSEPH for this 35th Anniversary as the show they most wanted to see again.

The cast for JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT stars Max Quinlan as Joseph and Susan Moniz as the Narrator. The cast also includes Bernie Yvon (Pharaoh), Roger Anderson (Jacob/Potiphar), Kevin Barthel, Don Denton, Andrew Keltz, Brandon Koller, Christian Libonati, Ryan Reilly, Arbender Robinson, Jason Shuffler, Joe Tokarz, J. Tyler Whitmer and George Andrew Wolff . The production's female ensemble features Lyndsey Cole, Ericka Mac, Summer Rich and Laura E. Taylor.

Aaron Thielen, Lead Artistic Director, heads the artistic team for JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, with Direction and Choreography by Marc Robin, and Musical Direction by Michael Mahler. Sound Design is by Cecil Averett, Properties Design by Greg Isaac, Costume Design by Nancy Missimi, Set Design by Tom Ryan, and Lighting Design by Diane Ferry Williams. Patti Garwood conducts the Marriott Theatre orchestra, with orchestrations by David Sigel.

The performance schedule for all shows is Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $45.00, excluding tax and handling fees. A $5.00 discount for students and seniors is valid for Wednesday matinees and both Sunday performances. With the purchase of a $55 ticket on Wednesdays or Thursdays, dinner is included at the King's Wharf Restaurant or the Fairfield Inn (based on dining availability). Dinners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday range from $32 - $43 per person (includes tax). Free parking is available at all performances. To reserve tickets with a major credit card, call the Marriott Theatre Box Office at 847.634.0200 or visit www.marriotttheatre.com.
