InFusion Theatre Company Presents GHOSTBOX, 9/30 - 10/31

InFusion_Theatre_Company_Presents_GHOSTBOX_930_1031_20010101

InFusion Theatre Company is proud to announce the world premiere of Randall Colburn's GHOSTBOX, September 30 - October 31, at the Apollo Studio Theater, 2540 N Lincoln Ave. Opening night is Thursday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 p.m. Performances are Thursday - Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with a speciAl Halloween performance, Sunday, Oct. 31 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 with student, senior and industry discounts available. Tickets may be purchased by calling 773.935.6100 or at Ticketmaster.com.

A supernatural thriller, GHOSTBOX begins with a wife (Victoria Gilbert) searching for her husband (Kevin Crispin). She finds herself in a mysterious place where past and present and life and death collide. While seeking to find her husband through the static of an old transistor radio, a looming shadow figure (Michael Coale) lurks in the darkness watching her every move. Video images fill the stage as clues from her past reveal themselves and she gets closer to finding her lost love. Taking a page from InFusion's past productions The Last Supper and Intrigue With Faye, this video-infused play is directed by Artistic Director Mitch Golob and runs approximately forty-five minutes without an intermission.

Additional production staff includes InFusion Theatre Company ensemble members Mitch Golob (Director), Bridgette O'Connor (Associate Director), Jason Crutchfield (Stage Manager) and Jamie Bragg (Dramaturg) and guest artists Kevin Viol (Video Design), Amanda Sweger (Scenic & Lighting Design), Claudette Perez (Sound Design), Mina Hong (Costume Design), Mike Oleon (Prop Design).

Randall Colburn's plays have been produced or developed at such theaters as the Alliance, the Public, Victory Gardens, City Lit, Stage Left, and The Right Brain Project, who will premiere his play Halfshut in November after dedicating their 2010 season to his work. He is the recipient of a 2010 Individual Artist Grant from the Illinois Arts Council, as well as playwriting fellowships from Dad's Garage Theatre and the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference. His play Lamp & Moth was a finalist for the Alliance's 2009 Kendeda Graduate Playwright Competition and the 2009 New York Summer Play Fest, and his short play Ravishment was part of the Northwest Playwrights Alliance's 2008 British Arts Tour. He is currently working on a commission from Writers' Theatre as well as developing a piece that will premiere in November at Brain Surgeon Theatre, where he is an artistic associate. A bad movie scholar, Colburn is also the co-founder and co-host of B-Rated, an online review show, and is featured in the hit documentary Best Worst Movie.

InFusion Theatre Company seeks out new plays and organically "infuses" them with other elements of entertainment such as music, dance and film. We strive to create dynamic performances by combining different forms of entertainment that will result in both exciting and thought-provoking work. We focus on giving voice to new works, as well as looking at older works in a new way. InFusion's 2010-2011 season continues with the Midwest premiere of Soul Samurai, an infusion of theatre and martial arts at Theater Wit, running April 28 - June 5, 2011.
