Today Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), led by Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton, announces its 2010-11 season, unveiling a World Premiere-packed series of performances at home in Chicago, as well as national and international touring and innovative collaborations with cultural partners in the city.

"It is my desire that all roads of the highest artistic quality pass through Hubbard Street Dance Chicago," notes HSDC Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton. "We are working to expand the company's capacity, and by obtaining new works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal and Victor Quijada, as well as offering the Chicago Premieres of Alonzo King's Following the Subtle Current Upstream and Nacho Duato's Arcangelo, I feel that we are moving Hubbard Street into new and exciting territories this season."

PERFORMANCES IN CHICAGO

At the heart of HSDC is its four-part series of performances at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park. The blockbuster 2010-2011 season will launch with the Fall Series September 30-October 3, featuring a World Premiere by RUBBERBANDance Group founder Victor Quijada; the Chicago Premiere of Nacho Duato's mysterious and illusive Arcangelo; and the dramatic Tabula Rasa by Ohad Naharin. HSDC's Winter Series, which will take place December 2-5 will highlight the sixth premiere by HSDC resident choreographer and dancer Alejandro Cerrudo; the return of Jorma Elo's tender and spirited Bitter Suite; the emotionally charged Petite Mort by Jirí Kylián; and a World Premiere work, TBA, set on Hubbard Street 2 (HS2).

Chicago's spring dance season would not be complete without HSDC's Spring Series. The company will heat up the city with a program featuring two World Premieres, March 17-20, 2011. In an Israeli expression of dance, the first new work will be choreographed by Batsheva Dance Company Artistic Director Ohad Naharin; the second premiere will be by Batsheva Dance Company's resident choreographer Sharon Eyal. To close out the company's 2010-11 season, HSDC's Summer Series May 19-22, 2011, will offer the Chicago Premiere of Alonzo King's Following the Subtle Current Upstream; the return of Jirí Kylián's 27'52" - a stunning piece that just had its Chicago Premiere in March 2010 at the Harris Theater; and a revival of Aszure Barton's new work, which will have its World Premiere with the company in June 2010.

Four-program subscriptions range in price from $75-$282. For more information about HSDC's 2010-11 season and subscriptions packages, please call the HSDC Ticket Office at 312-850-9744 or visit hubbardstreetdance.com. Single tickets will go on sale in August.
