Seven legendary stars from The Lawrence Welk Show will entertain audiences with "Champagne Music" on Monday, November 14 at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Tuesday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane. Lawrence Welk was one of the most successful orchestra leaders in American history. His wildly popular variety program, The Lawrence Welk Show, featured iconic singers, dancers and musicians throughout its successful 30 year history.

The Lawrence Welk Show began in 1951 on KTLA in Los Angeles, where it was broadcast from the Aragon Ballroom in Venice Beach. Nationally syndicated in 1955, the program quickly became a pop culture phenomenon. The Lawrence Welk Show featured all-star performers and showcased big band music, dance classics, and patriotic songs as well as humorous skits and other family-friendly fare. Welk's "easy listening" style was dubbed "Champagne Music" when a dancer proclaimed that the program featured songs "light and bubbly as champagne." Welk eventually made the tagline visual when he had the show's crew use a bubble machine every time they played a polka or a waltz.

Seven of the artists who were featured on The Lawrence Welk Show will entertain audiences at Drury Lane Theatre including Jo Ann Castle, who performed from 1959-1969; Anacani, who performed from 1973-1982; Ken Delo, who performed from 1969-1982; Bobby Burgess, who performed from 1961-1982; Elaine Balden, who performed from 1979-1982; Guy Hovis, who performed from 1970-1982; and Ralna English, who performed from 1969-1982.
