Chicago Shakespeare Theater Announces Extension of MURDER FOR TWO-A KILLER MUSICAL Through November 27

Chicago-Shakespeare-Theater-Announces-Extension-of-MURDER-FOR-TWo-A-KILLER-MUSICAL-Through-November-27-20010101

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today that its celebrated premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical will be extended into its sixth month through November 27, 2011, Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare. Nominated for four Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best New Work-Musical or Revue, this 90-minute Agatha Christie-like whodunit musical comes with a surprising twist: one actor plays the inspector, the other plays all 10 suspects, and both play the piano. Created by Joe Kinosian (music/book) and Kellen Blair (lyrics/book), Murder for Two-A Killer Musical currently features Kinosian as the slew of hilarious would-be criminals. Beginning on October 19, Adam Overett will take over for Alan Schmuckler in the role of Officer Marcus Moscowicz.

Tickets for Murder for Two-A Killer Musical now through November 27, 2011, are $25-$30. Performances are Wednesday-Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The following schedule changes will be in effect the week of Thanksgiving: no performances on Wednesday, November 23 and Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24; and performances at 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 25. All patrons receive a 40% discount on guaranteed parking in Navy Pier garages. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Box Office at 312.595.5600 or visit the Theater's website at www.chicagoshakes.com/murder.

Staged by CST veteran director David H. Bell, Murder for Two-A Killer Musical was developed at Chicago Shakespeare under the guidance of Creative Producer Rick Boynton and received its first developmental workshop atCST in May 2010. Adam Overett returns to the production after playing a role in the workshop process at Chicago Shakespeare. He appeared on Broadway and in the national tour of The Light in the Piazza covering the role of Fabrizio, and performed in the national pre-Broadway tour of Dirty Dancing. Overett is a Jonathan Larson Fellow in Musical Theater at the Dramatists Guild.

The creative team for Murder for Two-A Killer Musical includes Scenic Designer Scott Davis, Costume Designer Jeremy Floyd, Lighting Designer Jesse Klug, Sound Designer James Savage, Wig and Make-Up Designer Melissa Veal and Properties Master Chelsea Meyers.
