BroadwayWorld's Student Center High School Edition is back for another year! Just like the BWW College Center, the High School Center offers a directory featuring upcoming show listings for high schools nationwide. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

This week, we shine a spotlight on Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, Illinois!

Regina Dominican, a college preparatory Catholic school for women, sponsored by the Adrian Dominicans, fosters academic excellence, truth, peace and justice while challenging each student to develop leadership for life and respect for all races, cultures and faiths.

The Fine Arts department at Regina Dominican strives to develop an understanding and appreciation for the arts. Our extensive curriculum includes both theory and practice in art, drama, and music. Read more about each of these departments below!

ART
Students gain proficiency in the basics of drawing, color theory, and design through experience with a wide variety of art media. Course instruction includes work with painting and drawing materials, ceramics, and computer graphics, as well as study of major trends in art and artists.

DRAMA
Students develop performance skills and theatrical knowledge through class instruction activities and extra-curricular school plays. Coursework includes the study of voice and articulation, stage movement, improvisation, character and scene development, stage terms and theater history. Advanced students participate in direction of school productions and class scenes.

MUSIC
Students expand vocal and instrumental talents through class work and concert performances. Performances include winter and spring concerts and the annual Benefit production. First year students enroll in the Regina Choir to study voice and basic music theory, and in Orchestra to develop instrumental talents. Advanced students may qualify for admission into the Regina Chorale or Chamber Singers choruses.

DANCE
Sophomores, juniors and seniors may enroll in Regina's dance class. Students also can find great opportunities to develop their talents as members of Orchesis, the school's extra-curricular dance troupe.

Upcoming productions at Regina Dominican include the fall musical WEST SIDE STORY playing from November 15 to 17, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, ORCHESIS, KATHERINE'S QUEST FOR HAPPY and a Spring Concert hosted by the school's Music Classes.
